Boldly's key differentiator is VA seniority — their average VA has 12 years of experience. This shows in the quality of output but requires structured onboarding to leverage properly.
Boldly is the premium end of the dedicated VA market — a subscription model with senior, experienced assistants (average 12 years’ experience per their published data) across a wider skill range than most services offer. They’re more expensive than Belay at equivalent hours, and they lean into it.
We tested Boldly for 60 days starting February 2026, with a use case covering calendar management, marketing support, and light financial admin.
Bottom line: If you need a VA who can context-switch between executive assistant, light project manager, and marketing coordinator without a skill gap, Boldly justifies its premium. If you need a single-function EA, you’re overpaying.
[realism check] Typical month-1 outcome with a senior Boldly VA and proper onboarding: 10–15 hours/week of operator time recovered. The seniority advantage compounds — their VAs require fewer correction cycles and less SOP documentation than junior VAs at other services. Month-2 recovery was higher for us than month-1.
What makes Boldly different
Boldly operates on a different model than Belay or Time Etc:
-
Senior VAs only. Average 12 years’ experience. They screen aggressively — less than 1% of applicants are accepted according to their published data.
-
Shared or dedicated options. You can share a VA with other clients (at a lower monthly cost) or have a fully dedicated assistant. Shared plans are not full-time, but the VA you get is still senior.
-
Broader skill coverage. Boldly VAs can cover marketing support, HR coordination, financial admin, and executive assistant work — a range that junior VA services don’t attempt.
-
Part-time subscription. Boldly explicitly markets to businesses that need part-time senior support — not the full-time cost of a hire, but more than a basic VA.
Pricing reality
Boldly doesn’t publish a full pricing page. From our onboarding and market research:
- 40 hours/mo (shared plan): approximately $1,470/mo ($36.75/hr)
- 60 hours/mo (dedicated): approximately $2,200/mo ($36.67/hr)
- 80 hours/mo (dedicated): approximately $2,900/mo ($36.25/hr)
- Full-time (160+ hrs/mo): approximately $4,800–$5,600/mo
The per-hour rate is similar to Belay at equivalent hours, but you’re getting more experienced VAs, which changes the ROI calculation if your work requires judgment.
Onboarding: what we experienced
Week 1: Discovery call with a Boldly consultant who asked detailed questions about our specific workflow. More thorough than Belay’s intake — they wanted to understand the judgment calls, not just the tasks.
Week 2: Matched to a senior VA (12 years’ experience, specialist in executive assistance and marketing operations).
Week 3: Kickoff with VA. She had created a proposed workflow document before our call — proactive, not prompted. This was unusual in our testing across services.
Month 1: Fewer correction cycles than any other service we tested. Output quality was notably higher for judgment-heavy tasks (prioritizing which emails to respond to, drafting proposals that matched our tone).
Who Boldly is actually right for
Boldly is a fit if:
- You need multi-domain VA support (EA + marketing + finance light admin)
- You value seniority and want fewer correction cycles
- Your budget is $1,500–$5,600/mo
- You need judgment-heavy tasks handled, not just execution-heavy ones
Boldly is not a fit if:
- You need a single-function VA (Belay or Time Etc are cheaper for inbox-only or calendar-only work)
- Your budget is under $1,470/mo
- You need rapid matching (Boldly’s process takes 1–2 weeks like Belay)
Compare against alternatives
See our Belay review for the direct premium US-EA comparison. If the shared plan appeals, note that Time Etc’s model achieves similar cost with less seniority but faster matching.
Verdict
Boldly is the right answer for operators whose work genuinely requires seniority and multi-domain capability. The per-hour rate is similar to Belay, but you get materially more experienced VAs. For complex businesses, the fewer correction cycles pay for the premium.
Score: 8.0/10. High marks for VA quality and proactive onboarding. Points lost for pricing opacity and the minimum 40-hour commitment.
